A: Cookies are small files used by webpages to track a user's activity. This is most commonly used to keep a user logged into their email or other membership based webpage, as opposed to requiring them to re-login every time they navigate to another page.

Q: How do I enable cookies on my computer?

Internet Explorer

  1. From Tool drop-down menu, choose Internet Options.
  2. Click on Privacy and select Advanced.
  3. Check Override automatic cookie handling.
  4. Check Always allow session cookies.
  5. Click OK.

Netscape 7 / Mozilla / FireFox
  1. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
  2. Select the arrow next to Privacy and Security.
  3. Click the Cookies category.
  4. Click the radio button Enable all cookies.
  5. Click OK. You will need to restart your browser for this to take effect.

Opera 7
  1. From the File menu, choose Preferences.
  2. Click the Privacy category.
  3. Check Enable Cookies.
  4. From the Normal Cookies drop-down menu, select Automatically accept all cookies.
  5. From the Third Part drop-down menu, select Automatically accept all cookies.
  6. Click OK.

Q: How do I delete my cookies and temporary internet files?
A: To delete your temporary internet files and cookies with Internet Explorer, perform the following:

  1. Click on Tools in the Menu bar, then click on Internet Options...
  2. In the window that opens click on the Delete Files... button.
  3. Click on OK in the confirmation window; this will delete your Temporary Internet Files.
  4. Right next to the button you just pressed there should be another button named Delete Cookies...; click on it.
  5. Click on OK in the confirmation window; this will delete all your cookies on your computer.
  6. Click OK in the main Internet Options window, and close all browser windows that may be open. Then open the browser again; you will need to login back to your account to continue.
In older versions of Internet Explorer (ver. 5.5 or lower) the "Delete Cookies..." button may not appear. To delete cookies for an older versions, follow the below URL, locate your version and follow the directions.
